Career Mission Statement

Long story short: My mission is to use my writing, strategic thinking, creative problem solving, marketing experience, and design skills to tell clients’ stories and boost sales.

Long story long:

  • I make copy better, faster, and stronger.

  • I choose language that’s more elegant, efficient, convincing, and clear.

  • I'm here to do a job and do it well. I've written and published a 300 page novel. I'm not afraid of the time and attention to detail it takes to complete a project.

  • I want to be part of a great team. I'm the person on the team that other people come to when they need a Swiss army knife, a consult on language, or have a metaphorical fire that needs to be put out.

  • The goal isn't just to do the job well. It's to make the work a pleasure for coworkers and clients alike. Even the most unglamorous jobs can be pleasant when done with enthusiasm, teamwork, and a sense of humor.

  • I'm not afraid of elbow grease. I've been up to my elbows in coffee, constructed things with power tools, and made last minute trips out of state because it needed to be done.

  • While I focus on the details, I never lose sight of the big picture.

  • In business, I use logic, gap analysis, and negotiation to bring about favorable outcomes.
